Team SI and its client, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC), received the Government Standard of Excellence award in the 2019 WebAward competition by the Web Marketing Association for their work on ArkansasEDC.com. The website was chosen out
of hundreds of nominated websites across 96 industries.
ArkansasEDC.com, which launched in May 2018, serves as the go-to resource for businesses in Arkansas. The website provides robust frontend filtering for users, enabling them to search for companies by size, industry, location or businesses owned by minorities. Search results from these database queries can also be exported or printed.
“Team SI continues to push for innovation, and the AEDC site is a great example of this cutting-edge mentality,” said Alex Hood, Chief Technology Officer for Team SI. “There’s nothing else like it.”
AEDC sees continued success with the launch of the website.
“In the planning of this website, we got input from the types of people we built the site to serve, including site selection consultants, executives and statewide economic developers,” said Clint O’Neal, Executive Vice President of Global Business for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. “Their input guided the design, which helped to make this site more useful to them.”
Each website entered for the WebAwards was judged based on its design, content, innovation, technology and more. Judges over the AEDC entry recognized the website’s ease of use, particularly its filter and search functionalities.
The project was led by Chief Technology Officer Alex Hood, Project Manager Kristin Chacko, UI/UX Designer Marty Duvall, and Senior Developers Jonathan
Motes and Yogesh Goyal.
