Privacy Rights in the Digital Space

Written by Team SI on Thursday, February 27, 2020

Privacy is a very popular word in the digital space these days due to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

A lot of people are going to be watching California in 2020 because of the CCPA, a bill intended to enhance privacy rights and consumer protection for the state’s residents. We have a ton of clients in California and we’re already CCPA-compliant. If you are targeting California in your marketing, you need to make sure you are also.

Due to election season, we might not see any movement in state legislation in 2020 for the exact same bill as California’s law. But, in 2021, I believe you will see the same guidelines for California spread across the United States. That’s really going to impact privacy when it comes to marketing. You’re going to need a firm that knows how to handle privacy laws and still drive results for your marketing campaigns by targeting the right audience with the right frequency at the right time.
