Millennial Marketing: Make it a Priority in Your Brand Strategy

Written by Grace Townsend on Wednesday, April 08, 2015

I am a Millennial. In fact, almost everyone here at Team SI is considered a Millennial. We thrive on finding ways to innovate the future through digital marketing. Ask any of us if we could imagine our lives without Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. We might be able to give you some memories of life without them but not many. We get almost all of our marketing messages through the Internet and mobile devices (note what device you are reading this on right now). We Millennials are now the largest population in the U.S. and are completely shaped by technology. Being considered a Millennial, I know that I want my entertainment and questions answered on demand because I have been spoiled by technology due to the instant gratification it gives.

There are now 77 million Millennials according to Nielsen. We are the largest segment of smartphone owners with 85% of 18-24 year olds owning a smartphone and 86% of 25-34 year olds owning a smartphone. Retail Leader states that Millennials between the ages of 17 and 34 are expected to spend more than $200 BILLION annually starting in 2017. I don’t mean to sound harsh, but if your brand doesn’t have a Millennial marketing strategy, then your brand may not make it in the future.  Read More »

Targeted Marketing: The Balance Between Privacy and Relevancy

Written by on Tuesday, April 07, 2015

We all know the feeling. You reach a crucial, climactic scene in your favorite television show like The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul, when suddenly you’re thrust back into reality and a two-minute commercial break. Oftentimes, the products in these commercials are completely irrelevant to your life. Restless leg syndrome? Sorry, but my legs are fine, and I’ve just lost 30 seconds of my life. Activia? I think I’ll pass, I prefer Ben & Jerry’s. Read More »

Mobile-Friendliness and Content Marketing for Equipment and Tractor Dealers is Key

Written by on Thursday, April 02, 2015

Starting April 21, Google will expand mobile rankings signals based on “mobile-friendliness.” For the past couple of years, mobile usability has been part of Google’s algorithm, but until now it has been vague with no clear method. That is about to change according to Google, yet we don’t know how exactly. Since they rarely change their algorithms this much, it is a big deal. What does this mean? Bluntly, it means if you have managed to scrape by with a non-responsive site, you are about to be in a world of mobile SEO hurt. If you have no idea what I just said, please read on, especially if you are in the equipment industry. Content marketing for tractor and equipment dealers is now a key component to being relevant online.  Read More »

It is so tempting to focus all of your online efforts on attracting new business, but what about the business you already have?  Did you know that it cost most businesses five times more to attract a new customer than it does to keep an existing one, according to Ray Miller’s book That's Customer Focus?
